The
property has overnight accommodations for up to 8 guests. The main lodge
is a three bedroom, three bath with an open floor plan, dining, living
and kitchen area.
There is a covered
porch that overlooks the small lake in front of the
lodge, where our guests can relax in the rocking chairs and enjoy the
view.
Attached to the main
lodge is an apartment-type unit with one bedroom, one bath, kitchenette,
small living room with a balcony that overlooks the lake.
The lake is stocked
with bass, bream and catfish. Fishing in this
lake is available to our overnight guests; bring your fishing gear.
This
property has two kennels and a horse pasture plus a small two stall
building.
The game processing area is a short walk from the main lodge, and
includes a large walk-in cooler.
There is a 4 acre lake on the property that is used primarily as a
holding pond to flood the duck pond that is located below its dam. The dove field is located across the road from the lodge.
The Barley J. has a Continental Pheasant tower where we conduct shoots
twice per month, October thru March.
This property is located in Macon County near the Russell County and
Bullock County lines. It is 4 miles northwest of Hurtsboro, Alabama, and
is a short 25 minute drive to Auburn, Alabama, and Auburn University.
