For 2008/2009: Horseback Hunting For Quail. Click Here
Our
Quail hunts provide an excellent staff of guides and outstanding dogs
for your day afield.
Our Jeeps and wagons are set up to handle up to 6 hunters; however,
hunts can be conducted for two, four or six shooters per party, although only two hunters will shoot on any covey rise.
Shenandoah utilizes early release Quail programs as well as an
aggressive management of habitat for
wild Quail. These hunts can be scheduled for overnight or just for a day visit.
Our Day Quail Hunts generally begin around 9 am CST. Hunters will load
into the Jeep or wagon and proceed
through the property on a hunting
course. The
terrain is varied with rolling hills, fields and bottoms.
The hunters will break for lunch around 12 noon and go to the
main house
or
lodge for a hot
Southern meal.
The afternoon hunt begins around 1 and ends around 4 pm.
Our
overnight hunters generally arrive late on the afternoon before the hunt
and settle into the lodge. A hot Southern meal is served for dinner that
evening at whatever time is arranged by the Quail hunters and their
host. A breakfast of eggs, bacon and the works is generally served the
following morning at 8am CST.
The
hunters will load into the jeep or wagon and proceed through the
property on a hunting course.
The
hunters will break for lunch around 12 noon and go to the lodge for
sandwiches or a light lunch.
The
afternoon hunt begins around 1pm and ends around 4pm.
We
can accommodate a limited number of Quail hunts on horseback. Just call
for details if that is your pleasure.

Horseback Hunting For Quail At Shenandoah
For our 2008/2009 hunting season
we are adding hunting off the horses as an option to our commercial
hunting menu. We also have a new property that we will be allowing
customers to book horseback hunts on. We call it Cross keys and it is
located a short drive from our Shenandoah facility. All lodging will
still be at our Shenandoah facility, but we will travel the short drive
to this beautiful 4000 acres of quail hunting habitat for the day’s
hunt.
We have had this property for 2 years and have allowed some limited
hunting there during the 2007/2008 season under our membership program.
We have been working on the habitat and felt it is ready for some
commercial hunting during the 2008/2009 season. At Cross Keys, we are
using the early release system for our birds as well as the native wild
birds that are raising on this property. We are very excited about this
property, and encourage you take advantage of this new and exciting
opportunity.
